Project Sixty.365

I am going to post a daily composition (classical and electronic) that will be roughly 60 seconds in length. I will do this for one entire year, 365 days. My inspiration came from another composer/ producer who did the same thing and I was moved by his tenacity and motivation to complete a musical idea/ piece every day for one year.

This commitment will pose many advantageous pedagogical puzzles and I also believe it will create a few tests of my self-discipline, motivation, along with compositional ideas. Here are some of the following things that I am thinking about:
1. I am promising myself to complete something everyday and post it for listening and feedback,
2. If I know that at least one person is listening, I feel obligated to continue to ensure my personal promise to do so,
3. I believe that composing a complete musical idea of only 60 seconds can be a musical conundrum in itself due to time constraints,
4. It will help me learn how to accept criticism on all levels, and
5. Even though it is only 60 seconds, I know that it will help me with my self-discipline due to finding time to create, describe, record, and post a piece EVERYDAY for a year!

I am officially beginning tonight (09/16/2008) and my last composition will be (09/16/2009). Please feel free to reply about each piece via my email address and I am also figuring out how to give the listener the option to respond on this page under the desired piece. Thank you for your time! You can respond using the
contact page on this site or my email address is soundscore76@yahoo.com

Please check in daily if you have the time to listen and comment! Thanks again!

Sincerely,

James Jumonville III
